Evénement de rentrée : reprise à Chaillot de cette trilogie en forme d’aventure théâtrale, présentée en intégralité les 11 et 18 septembre (près de douze heures avec pauses et restauration possible). Les trois pièces interrogent âprement les multiples formes de violence faite à l’humanité. Au coeur de la folie du monde, les mots fouillent dans les mémoires ensanglantées, les plis cachés des âmes et les délires furieux des hommes, et chaque histoire emporte les personnages dans des voyages terriblement éprouvants, obligeant à débusquer le sens de secrets inavoués et enfouis de longue date. De l’orphelin Wilfrid parti offrir à son père inconnu une sépulture dans un pays dévasté par la guerre (Littoral), à Nawal mère muette demandant à ses enfants de partir à la recherche du père et du frère inconnus (Incendies), et à la jeune Loup effectuant une traversée terrifiante du vingtième siècle et de générations meurtries (Forêts), les thèmes de la filiation, de l’héritage et de la quête de sens nourrissent le texte, entre violence brute et désir d’apaisement.
Héritage cru
“Il ne s’agit pas d’un héritage conscient, il s’agit de tout ce que l’on nous transmet dans le silence, dans l’ignorance et qui pourtant déchire notre existence et broie notre destin. Il s’agit de cet héritage sourd que des générations et des générations peuvent se transmettre jusqu’à ne plus avoir le choix, par trop de douleur, que de briser le tamis qui nous voile la vérité, pour faire en sorte que cet héritage silencieux devienne un héritage bruyant, évident, cru, étalé là, sous la lumière. Littoral, Incendies et Forêts abordent la question de la promesse non tenue, ou plutôt de celle que l’on profère et que l’on tente de tenir, et des raisons pour lesquelles on ne la tient pas.” confie l’auteur et metteur en scène. Des questions humaines poignantes et éternelles que le théâtre explore en pleine intensité, évoquant les tragédies grecques ou le monde d’aujourd’hui, à travers un imaginaire foisonnant et très audacieux.
