Théâtre du Soleil / Compagnie Théâtre du Pôle Nord
Créer des personnages qui ne parlent pas, travailler à partir de chants de Nina Simone : telles ont été les lignes fondatrices de la nouvelle création du Théâtre Pôle Nord. Une création élaborée à partir d’un travail d’improvisations et d’écriture sur le plateau, qui présente « deux solitudes coupées du reste des hommes ». « Il y a Rachel, l’enfant dont le peuple a été exterminé, expliquent les membres de la compagnie ardéchoise. Elle vit seule dans la rue, parfois entourée de fantômes. Elle chante pour survivre. Il y a Caï, qui a quitté son Irlande natale pour une école de commerce. Il n’y a plus jamais remis les pieds. Il voyage de pays en pays, des contrats dans sa valise. Et il y a l’Esprit, protecteur de Rachel, qui se balade entre la vie et la mort, qui connaît les profondeurs de la terre et le ciel infini. » Suite de tableaux sonores et climatiques, L’Ogre et l’enfant nous plonge dans un univers urbain trouble et mystérieux. Un univers au sein duquel se rencontrent « deux êtres que tout sépare ».
