CREATION MONDIALE / OPERA DE RENNES
Au départ une pièce de Copi, L’Ombre de Venceslao, écrite en 1977, traduite et présentée en 1999 au Théâtre de La Tempête par un autre Argentin : Jorge Lavelli. Aujourd’hui, la pièce devient opéra, portée par le livret et la mise en scène du même Lavelli, sous la férule d’un troisième Argentin : le compositeur Martin Matalon. Pour donner vie à cette œuvre où le tragique le dispute à l’humour, le musicien a choisi un orchestre de petite taille qui comprend – Argentine oblige – quatre bandonéons plus un dispositif électronique. Cette création mondiale est à découvrir à l’Opéra de Rennes avant une tournée à Toulon, Reims, Avignon, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulouse, Marseille, Bordeaux, de manière à répondre aux objectifs du Centre français de promotion lyrique : favoriser l’insertion professionnelle des jeunes chanteurs et participer à la démocratisation et la diffusion musicale.
