Quand Piazzolla, venu à Paris en 1954 étudier auprès de Nadia Boulanger, lui révèle qu’il jouait du tango, elle l’encourage à développer cet héritage populaire avec les techniques de la composition moderne, avec la fécondité que l’on connaît. C’est cette porosité fertile entre traditions savantes et populaires que met en valeur la bandonéoniste et compositrice Louise Jallu, dans un programme inscrivant Piazzolla dans la dynamique de la création contemporaine, avec des réécritures à quatre mains avec Bernard Cavanna – autre compositeur qui se nourrit de l’hétérogénéité entre les genres et les répertoires – de pages comme Oblivion, Soledad ou Libertango. À côté d’une pièce d’Osvaldo Golijov, la jeune soliste fait également découvrir deux de ses compositions inspirées par Piazzolla, Milonga en mi majeur et À Gennevilliers. Nicolas Ellis, l’un des finalistes dans la sélection pour la succession de Grant Llewellyn, dirige l’Orchestre national de la Bretagne.
