PHILHARMONIE DE PARIS / SYMPHONIQUE
Sous le titre « Cabaret / Paris – Berlin – Broadway », l’Orchestre Pasdeloup et Amel Brahim-Djelloul retracent le parcours du compositeur Kurt Weill, des cabarets berlinois enfumés de sa jeunesse au Paris des années 30, puis aux scènes de Broadway où il exportera et fera triompher son grand art de la chanson. Le programme réunit plusieurs songs célèbres mais aussi, plus rare, la Suite panaméenne tirée de la musique de scène composée à Paris par Weill pour le spectacle Marie Galante joué en 1934 au Théâtre Hébertot. Des œuvres de Gerswhin, autre génial auteur de chansons, complètent le programme avec deux monuments du « jazz symphonique » : le poème musical Un Américain à Paris et Rhapsody in Blue, dans une version maison conçue avec le vibraphoniste Franck Tortiller, fidèle complice de Pasdeloup à la tête d’un orchestre de jazz. Curiosité : l’Humoresque on George Gershwin’s Swanee du compositeur (et militaire !) américain John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) figure aussi au programme de ce concert dirigé par le viennois Wolfgang Doerner, vieille connaissance de la formation parisienne dont il fut longtemps le Premier chef invité.
