Si, comme le disait Stravinsky, la musique n’exprime rien, elle est en revanche un art de l’évocation. Par elle infuse l’esprit des lieux : la Symphonie « pastorale » de Beethoven au programme de ce concert de l’Orchestre Pasdeloup ne raconte rien, ne décrit guère plus mais dit la contemplation de la nature en ses mouvements. Cette idée d’une musique miroir d’un monde perçu aura une riche descendance, du romantisme et ses nocturnes – ici illustré par deux extraits du Songe d’une nuit d’été – jusqu’aux évocations marines que permet une approche fine de l’orchestre ; on pense à Debussy, mais c’est ici la Britannique Anna Clyne (née en 1980) que l’on entendra (le très métaphorique – et féministe – Restless Oceans, 2018), sous la direction de la jeune Coréenne Sara Elisabeth Lee. Enfin, le jeune et excellent Thibaut Garcia interprètera le Concerto d’Aranjuez, classique de la littérature concertante pour guitare, où Joaquin Rodrigo se montre également paysagiste et folkloriste.
