CHŒUR A CAPPELLA / MUSÉE D’ORSAY
Alors que le Musée d’Orsay expose le double cycle du Poème de l’Âme du Lyonnais Louis Janmot, l’auditorium résonnera des hymnes et autres pages chorales anglaises, de William Byrd et Henry Purcell à Benjamin Britten et Jonathan Harvey. Ces échos d’outre-Manche nous rappellent combien l’attrait pour le mysticisme – lui-même appuyé sur un Moyen-Âge revisité – fut un trait d’union entre les écoles artistiques, des Préraphaélites anglais aux symbolistes et aux Nabis. Le programme de l’ensemble Les Métaboles reprend pour l’essentiel celui qu’ils avaient donné (et enregistré pour NoMadMusic) en 2019 à Royaumont – l’un des plus beaux disques de musique choral de ces dernières années. S’y ajoute The Lamb, composé par John Taverner (celui du 20e siècle !) sur le poème éponyme de William Blake, source d’inspiration essentielle de Louis Janmot.
