MUSIQUE BAROQUE / THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES
Formation emblématique d’une nouvelle génération d’interprètes baroques français bien décidés à ne pas marcher trop docilement dans les pas de leurs glorieux aînés, l’Ensemble Les Surprises a vu le jour en 2010 à l’initiative de la violiste Juliette Guignard et de l’organiste Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas. Leur passion est l’opéra des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles, d’où le nom qu’ils se sont choisi en référence à l’opéra-ballet Les Surprises de l’Amour de Jean-Philippe Rameau. Pour ce concert dominical sur lequel planera le souvenir du regretté Jean-Claude Malgoire, disparu le 14 avril 2018 à l’âge de 77 ans et qui fut un compagnon de route des plus fidèles des Concerts du dimanche matin, les interprètes regardent de l’autre côté de la Manche. Leur programme, entièrement consacré à Purcell, est inspiré par l’amour à travers des extraits de The Fairy Queen, Don Quixote, Dido and Aeneas, King Arthur ou The Indian Queen et même quelques pages inédites !
