Figure marquante de la danse contemporaine, Louise Lecavalier a notamment été l’égérie d’Edouard Lock et de sa compagnie, La La La Human Steps, électrisant les salles par ses prouesses techniques et par l’énergie troublante – qui semblait « brute » en dépit de sa virtuosité – qui se dégageait de sa présence en scène : on la comparait souvent à une « tornade blonde ». Elle donne le 21 novembre un programme composé de trois pièces. Tout d’abord un solo de Crystal Pite, Lone Epic, qui prend le risque d’explorer le passage des émotions, dans un rapport intime à la musique. Dans un duo qu’elle interprète avec Eric Beauchesne, Lula and the sailor, la danseuse explore ensuite ce que Tedd Robinson, le chorégraphe, appelle « la dynamique de la ligne droite ». C’est par une pièce de Benoît Lachambre, connu pour ses chorégraphies « conceptuelles », que la soirée se terminera : « I » is memory, danse quasi méditative, signe la perte de l’identité de l’être, le trouble des repères. Et la danseuse de conclure : « La danse minimale me fascine tout autant que la danse extrême… J’aime trouver l’une dans l’autre. »
