THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES / BAROQUE / ENSEMBLE LES SURPRISES
Initiée par Lully, la tragédie lyrique est la forme originale que le théâtre chanté a pris en France aux XVIe et XVIIIe siècles, en réponse à l’opéra italien, avec, au-delà de la dimension spectaculaire, un accent mis sur la danse et la déclamation. C’est pour rendre hommage à cette tradition unique qu’ils connaissent intimement que Véronique Gens et Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas, avec son Ensemble Les Surprises, ont imaginé un concert en cinq actes autour des grandes figures, héroïnes et compositeurs, de ce répertoire. Armide, Alceste ou Médée revivent dans des pages de Lully et ses contemporains Charpentier et Collasse et de ses successeurs tels Destouches, Desmarests ou Rebel et Francoeur.
