Le Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève nous invite à découvrir les danseurs dans deux registres esthétiques portés par des musiques contrastées. D’abord le Requiem de Fauré, qui a été comparé à une « berceuse » de la mort. « Mais c’est ainsi que je sens la mort : comme une délivrance heureuse, une aspiration au bonheur d’au-delà, plutôt que comme un passage douloureux…« , soulignait le compositeur. Sur cette musique douce et funèbre, Ken Ossola a composé Lux pour le Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, comme un dialogue entre la vie et la mort, la lumière et les ténèbres : une danse qui sculpte les ombres. Après ce moment tout en délicatesse, Glory d’Andonis Foniadakis nous entraîne quant à lui dans l’exubérance du baroque, sur la musique de Haendel : une danse virtuose et extravagante, dont les difficultés techniques demandent au danseur d’être intensément présent, dans l’audace de l’instant.
