Injustement méconnu, Carlos Liscano est considéré en Uruguay comme l’un des plus grands auteurs contemporains. C’est en prison, où il a passé treize ans pendant la dictature militaire, qu’il se découvre écrivain. Ma Famille est l’une des ses pièces les plus connues. Dans cette famille, on vend les enfants pour boucler les fins de mois, et parfois on les rachète pour égayer une fête familiale. « La famille est le lieu où se fait le commerce des sentiments », souligne l’auteur. « Les relations familiales sont inexplicables. Comme sont inexplicables les sentiments contradictoires entre parents, enfants, frères et sœurs. » La pièce alterne entre récit et représentation, voix du narrateur et voix des personnages ; Fatima Aibout, Max Bouvard et Sylvie Malissard interprètent tous les rôles. Le texte rend admirablement compte de la tension et des paradoxes familiaux et oscille entre réalisme et absurde, naïveté et rage, ironie et folie. L’écriture vive appelle « une polyphonie, des mouvements ludiques et inventifs », souligne Sylvie Malissard, comédienne et metteure en scène.
