A la façon de la Modeste Proposition de Jonathan Swift – où manger les enfants s’avère un remède économique contre la misère et la surpopulation -, Ma Famille de l’auteur uruguayen Carlos Liscano décrit un monde où les parents en difficulté financière vendent un ou plusieurs enfants. Les liens ne sont pas rompus pour autant, et l’enfant vendu rend visite à sa famille. L’auteur souligne à juste titre la puissance des sentiments familiaux qui, quels qu’ils soient, pétrissent la vie de chacun ! Avec ironie et une distance amusée, Carlos Liscano crée une polyphonie pirandellienne où un même acteur passe du statut de narrateur à celui de personnage, puis change encore de rôle. Un beau défi de mise en scène et un formidable champ experimental pour Mateluna, qui trouve ici matière à investir le corps de l’acteur de façon rigoureuse et percutante. L’absurde, l’humour et une fragmentation dédramatisante se combinent en une suite de tableaux évocateurs et cocasses.
