Partant de son expérience de célébrité télévisuelle et cinématographique, Jackie Berroyer invente une forme d’autofiction théâtrale au sein de laquelle son double scénique compare sa notoriété à l’attrait que peut susciter la beauté d’une jolie fille. Accompagné à la guitare par Brice Delage, le comédien relate ainsi à travers diverses saynètes et chansons le quotidien amoureux de son personnage : un « sexagénaire bedonnant » qui se demande s’il serait parvenu à séduire sa jeune compagne sans sa visibilité médiatique. Autodérision et sens de l’absurde, mise à distance sarcastique, exubérance, déni du “politiquement correct”, Ma vie de jolie fille participe d’une volonté de lutter contre « l’esprit de sérieux qui plombe notre époque ». Cela en affirmant le droit au rire, au culot et à l’excès.
