Tout paraît d’abord un peu tendu, un peu lointain. Comme si les premières scènes de cette Madame de Sade reposaient sur une fine horlogerie révélant la précision de ses mouvements sans laisser entrevoir la portée, la fonction plus profonde de cette belle mécanique. Ainsi, des femmes discourent, dans une idée de XVIIIème siècle. Des femmes faisant partie de l’entourage du marquis de Sade. Elles s’apostrophent, vont et viennent, déplaçant avec elles d’encombrantes crinolines : la comtesse de Saint-Fond (Anne Sée), la baronne de Simiane (Isabelle Mazin), Madame de Montreuil (Marilu Marini). Puis, Madame de Sade (Hélène Alexandridis) entre en scène, suivie de près par sa sœur cadette (Myrto Procopiou). Et c’est avec l’apparition de ces deux comédiennes magistrales que le spectacle conçu par Jacques Vincey parvient à se libérer, à respirer, qu’il se met à investir l’ampleur des troubles intérieurs, des inclinations morales, des questionnements de vie composant les enjeux dramaturgiques de la pièce de Yukio Mishima.
Une œuvre imposante sur la liberté et l’abandon
Faisant souffler sur cette Madame de Sade une aisance, une audace, une puissance créative de chaque instant, Hélène Alexandridis et Myrto Procopiou démontrent que le théâtre n’est jamais aussi beau que lorsqu’un interprète, réussissant à dépasser toute appréhension du vide, atteint un tel point de liberté et d’intensité que le temps de la représentation semble alors se suspendre. C’est un de ces saisissements temporels et artistiques que les deux comédiennes accomplissent ici, emportant avec elles l’ensemble de la distribution dans des mises en perspective passionnantes sur les notions de liberté et d’abandon, d’affranchissement et de conditionnement. Situant sa pièce entre 1772 et 1790, dans la France révolutionnaire, Yukio Mishima propose en effet une matière à réflexion très aiguë sur le sens à donner aux concepts de choix et d’insurrection individuels. Car, face à l’ombre envahissante d’un marquis de Sade absent pour cause d’emprisonnement, chacune de ces figures féminines est renvoyée aux conflits obscurs, aux pensées brûlantes qui déterminent son rapport à l’amour, à l’honneur, aux normes sociales, à l’idée de révolte intime.
