Présenté pour la première fois il y a tout juste un an sur une scène parisienne, ce spectacle formidable fait son retour pour cinq représentations exceptionnelles dans la salle de sa création. La grande danseuse franco-israélienne Sharon Sultan eut l’idée de ce projet à l’issue de sa première collaboration en 2002 avec le flûtiste et compositeur Pierre Bertrand dans le cadre d’un projet du Paris Jazz Big Band. Sur un argument de Jean-Antoine Hierro (qui signe aussi la mise en scène et la scénographie), « Madre » raconte l’histoire d’une grande artiste de flamenco qui, devenue mère de deux filles, fait le choix d’abandonner ses enfants au profit de sa carrière et de son épanouissement artistique. Une tragédie qui verra ces destins croisés se retrouver sur scène dans un ultime et fatal duel dansé… Atmosphère gitane, esthétique contrastée : la dramaturgie et la finesse classiques rencontrent la rigueur flamboyante flamenca. Un moment fort.
