OPERA EN CONCERT / THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSÉES
Repris dans le recueil de Madrigaux guerriers et amoureux, Le combat de Tancrède et Clorinde a d’abord été écrit par Monteverdi pour le carnaval de Venise de 1624. D’une vingtaine de minutes, et imaginée par le compositeur avec des indications scénographiques, la pièce s’articule autour de la déclamation chantée du narrateur, ici assumé par Magdalena Kožená, et fait évoluer le madrigal vers une facture plus théâtrale, nouvelle pour l’époque. A coté de quelques pièces instrumentales et vocales du dix-septième siècle italien, le concert rapproche également la modernité de l’œuvre de deux condensés de théâtre musical plus contemporain : la Sequenza III de Berio (1925-2003) et Arianna has a problem, variation sur le Lamento d’Arianna de Monteverdi que le Tchèque Marko Ivanović (né en 1976) a composée pour sa compatriote en 2016.
