« Symbole de la rébellion contre l’ordre établi », « poète de la conscience, et aussi de la limite de la conscience », comme l’a écrit J.-M. G. Le Clézio, Lautréamont a signé à 24 ans, peu avant sa disparition prématurée, un ensemble de six chants qui lui valurent une célébrité posthume. Sur la scène de la Maison de la Poésie, David Ayala s’empare de sept extraits de cette composition poétique que le metteur en scène Pierre Pradinas a souhaité unir à la musique de Pink Floyd. « Il existe une proximité et une complémentarité aussi incroyables qu’évidentes entre ce texte et cette musique, déclare-t-il. C’est pourtant un mariage improbable puisque leurs écritures sont séparées par un siècle mais, au final, on dirait que l’une a été faite pour l’autre. » Un mariage grâce auquel le metteur en scène cherche à donner toute la mesure d’une œuvre qui, plus qu’une simple succession de cauchemars, constitue selon lui « une perception non angélique du monde ressemblant plus à la réalité qu’à une idéalisation ».
