Chanteuse sans frontière par excellence, amoureuse du Brésil (et réciproquement) et passée par mille rencontres (du groupe Odeurs à Magma, de Lavilliers à Daniel Goyone), Manu Le Prince renoue aujourd’hui résolument avec le jazz. Elle a pour cela choisi le répertoire et les accompagnateurs idoines : les chansons inusables de Cole Porter (Love For Sale, I Get A Kick Out Of You, From This Moment On, Miss Otis, What Is This Thing, etc…) et une rythmique de rêve composée d’Alain Jean Marie (piano), Gilles Naturel (contrebasse) et John Bestch (drums) agrémentée par le saxophone de Xavier Richardeau. Après diverses apparitions remarquées en club dans cette formule, un album « Tribute to Cole Porter » sort aujourd’hui chez Sergent Major/Nocturne avec en prime une belle brochette d’invités (Stéphane Belmondo, Patrick Saussois, Didier Lockwood, Rhoda Scott, etc…). Pour la circonstance, Manu Le Prince s’offre et nous offre deux soirées live dans le club le plus brésilien de la capitale…
