C’est un concert d’adieu. Ce mois-ci, Marc Albrecht quitte son poste de directeur musical de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg, où il avait été nommé en 2006. Il est peu de dire que le climat entre le chef allemand et les musiciens strasbourgeois s’était fortement dégradé ces derniers temps. N’oublions toutefois pas ce qu’a apporté musicalement le maestro à cette phalange, en particulier dans le répertoire post-romantique. C’est d’ailleurs avec les Gurre-Lieder, une œuvre hors normes d’Arnold Schoenberg (dont l’effectif pléthorique nécessite notamment dix cors !), que Marc Albrecht met un terme à son mandat. Outre l’Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg, seront présents sur la scène de la Salle Pleyel de nombreux solistes de premier plan (notamment la contralto Anna Larsson) ainsi que le Chœur de Brno, à la puissance et à l’homogénéité confondantes. A la rentrée, Marc Albrecht se retrouvera à la tête de l’Orchestre philharmonique des Pays-Bas, tandis que l’Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg aura pour directeur musical, à partir de 2012, le chef slovène Marko Letonja.
