Le Bal Blomet / quartet de grande classe
« Someday » comme le premier mot de Someday My Prince Will Come, la fameuse chanson de Cendrillon immortalisée par Miles Davis et devenue, sur ces entrefaites, un standard de jazz. Elle est au programme du nouveau disque de Marc Copland, à qui elle donne son titre, et dont le pianiste américain vient fêter la sortie avec ceux-là mêmes qui l’ont enregistré avec lui : le remarquable saxophoniste ténor Robin Verheyen (très Joe Lovano dans le style), et deux musiciens qui l’accompagnent depuis longtemps, en parfaite osmose, le contrebassiste Drew Gress et le batteur Mark Ferber. Un quartet de grande classe qui manifeste l’élégance que l’on associe à son leader depuis des années, maitre de la demi-teinte et des évanescences mélodiques.
