Depuis son premier trio au milieu des années 80 et l’album « La Théorie du pilier » (Label Bleu), chaque nouvelle proposition du guitariste français, décidément trop rare sur les scènes nationales des salles et festivals, sonne comme la plus belle des promesses. Avec ce sextette, il se laisse inspirer par des œuvres littéraires de Franz Kafka, poursuivant une recherche qui guide souvent sa musique autour des interactions entre textes, musique et improvisation. « La voix féminine chante et la voix d’homme parle ; les deux se superposent mais ne dialoguent jamais, et c’est le commentaire, touffu ou dépouillé, de l’orchestre qui oriente l’auditeur vers une écoute synthétique de ces deux discours parallèles et aussi désespérés l’un que l’autre » explique Ducret. Musicien de l’introspection, il a nommé son groupe – composé de Anne Magouet (soprano), Christiane Bopp (trombone), Antonin Rayon (piano, clavecin, clavinet), Sylvaine Hélary (flûte) et Noémi Boutin (violoncelle) – en pensant à la phrase de Kafka : un « livre doit être une hache pour briser la mer gelée qui est en nous ».
