Centre des bords de Marne (dans le cadre du festival Sons d’hiver),
Figure de l’avant-garde new-yorkaise depuis le milieu des années 1980, Marc Ribot se voit, à l’occasion de son 70e anniversaire, célébré par le festival Sons d’hiver — dont il est une figure familière — qui lui consacre trois concerts. Après un solo à Fontenay-sous-Bois la veille, l’éternel dandy iconoclaste de la guitare se présentera ainsi successivement au CDBM à la tête de deux formations : la première est son New Jazz Trio, groupe qui prolonge celui fondé avec le contrebassiste (désormais disparu) Henry Grimes et le batteur Chad Taylor (toujours de la partie) qui s’ouvre pour l’occasion au saxophone aussi feulant qu’affuté du ténor James Brandon Lewis ; la seconde est Ceramic Dog, trio qui, sous un nom ironique, suit une trajectoire plus rock, rigoureusement déglingue, dans laquelle le guitariste se dévoile aussi chanteur, tendance punk-noise. Une belle occasion de revoir ce grand sculpteur de la guitare, qui sait en faire miroiter la sonorité autant que la vriller ou la rayer avec éclat.
