« On peut parler d’une maladie de l’écrit. » confiait Marguerite Duras en 1993, dans Ecrire. « L’écrit ça arrive comme le vent, c’est nu, c’est de l’encre, c’est l’écrit et ça passe comme rien d’autre ne passe dans la vie, rien de plus, sauf elle, la vie. » C’est ce bruissement-là, ce froissement des êtres qui murmure au dos de la solitude, que saisit à fleur de mots la plume de Duras pour leur donner voix. Metteur en scène et comédien, Didier Bezace retrouve cette écriture limpide et complexe qui convient si bien à son esthétique. Il reprend Marguerite et le Président, adapté en 1992 d’entretiens avec François Mitterrand, Le Square, pièce de jeunesse datant de 1956 qu’il présenta en 2003, et Savannah Bay (1982). « Ce sont trois âges d’une même personne dont l’intense acuité vient éclairer la vie intime et l’Histoire. », explique-t-il. A travers ces trois conversations singulières, Duras dévoile dans « le regard qu’elle porte sur les choses de la vie, à la fois la juvénilité d’une enfant et la tragique maturité de la vieillesse, une expérience des âges simultanée. »
