Elle est indiscutablement l’une des plus grandes organistes de notre temps,
dépositaire éminente de la grande tradition française de l’orgue. Issue d’une
famille de musiciens, elle a fait ses études musicales au Conservatoire National
Supérieur de Paris, et a connu de nombreux succès lors de concours
internationaux. En plus d’un demi-siècle de carrière, elle a donné dans le monde
entier plus de deux mille concerts et enregistré près de deux cents disques,
dont quelques intégrales marquantes, consacrées à Bach, Buxtehude, Franck, Jehan
Alain. On la retrouve prochainement à Paris pour deux concerts parisiens
importants, le premier aux Grandes orgues de Notre-Dame dans des ?uvres de
Campion, Bach, Mendelssohn et de son père Albert Alain ainsi que de son frère le
grand Jehan Alain, puis le 12 juin au pupitre de l’instrument de l’église
Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, pour un récital exceptionnel consacré cette fois
exclusivement à la musique de Jehan Alain (né en 1911 et disparu en 1940 lors de
la Seconde Guerre mondiale) à l’occasion de la sortie chez Intrada d’un nouvel
enregistrement de l’intégrale de son ?uvre.
