Pénétrer l’univers du compositeur finlandais Einojuhani Rautavaara (né en 1928) est toujours une aventure passionnante. Très influencé par Sibelius – cela s’entend dès les premières mesures de son Concerto pour harpe que Marielle Nordmann interprète pour ce concert aux côtés de l’Orchestre Colonne –, il plonge immédiatement l’auditeur dans un monde de couleurs changeantes, dont les lignes mélodiques semblent en apesanteur. Très lyrique, résolument romantique mais dans un style tout à fait approprié, cette musique mériterait d’être plus souvent interprétée. Il faut donc féliciter Marielle Nordmann de faire entendre cette œuvre obsédante, qu’elle a enregistrée sous la direction de Leif Segerstam (chez Ondine). Elle est ici accompagnée par le chef Rani Calderon, qui dirige également Kodály (Danses de Galanta) et Beethoven (Deuxième Symphonie).
