Après A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods et Passion, Jean-Luc Choplin, directeur du Théâtre Marigny, poursuit l’exploration du répertoire de Stephen Sondheim, « maître contemporain du musical » avec Marry me a Little, « composé de chansons écrites (et non retenues) pour différents musicals et patchwork des talents de Sondheim pour deux chanteurs et piano. » Dans une mise en scène de Mirabelle Ordinaire et une scénographie de Philippine Ordinaire, Kimy Mc Laren et Damian Thantrey, accompagnés par Charlotte Gauthier, interprètent l’histoire de deux jeunes célibataires qui se lamentent sur leur solitude amoureuse, un samedi soir, à New York, chacun dans leur appartement. « Il suffirait qu’ils se rencontrent… mais dans la vie (…) parfois rien ne se passe, sauf la magie du spectacle. »
