Le CENTQUATRE / Cirque / par le Cirque Trottola et le Petit Théâtre Baraque
L’arène est celle du cirque Trottola, dont le micro-chapiteau de bois est devenu l’emblème : une piste où les personnages prennent une dimension particulière, dans une grande proximité avec le public. Titoune, Bonaventure et Mads se sont associés à Branlotin et Nigloo, les deux énergumènes du Petit Théâtre Baraque, pour une expérience commune accueillant les personnages de chacun, et permettant au spectateur de les surplomber comme à la corrida. Accompagnés de musiciens, les voilà prompts à nous donner des leçons de vie ou de mort. Le goût du risque fait partie du jeu, mais il est surtout dérisoire.
Un mannequin et des hommes
Si la piste aux étoiles n’est jamais bien loin, c’est dans les paillettes fatiguées et dans une forme de nostalgie qu’elle demeure. Pour le reste, c’est un cirque où les gros durs côtoient les vrais naïfs, où la monstruosité de l’humanité se révèle dans de grands fous rires. Il y a quelque chose de Fellini dans les situations où ces clowns et ces Charlots assument la cruauté et le grotesque de leur existence. De là surgit une poésie magnifique, car toujours les masques tombent, révélant des toreros de pacotille, des mannequins en faux-semblant, mais de véritables artistes de cirque.
