Ce jeune homme à la sensibilité à fleur de peau possède une intelligence de l’interprétation exemplaire. Sans micro, seul en scène avec sa voix et son piano, il extirpe de la chanson qu’il aborde tout son potentiel musical, poétique et émotionnel. Avec simplicité et pudeur. Ce fou de chanson française dont il connaît l’histoire comme personne nous donne rendez-vous à la Vieille Grille, lieu célèbre où débutèrent Jacques Higelin, Areski et Fontaine, Colette Magny et tant d’autres… Deux formules sont programmées en alternance : « Rencontres », nouveau tour de chant aux couleurs sépia où Mathieu Rosaz reçoit le public comme chez lui, avec un mélange touchant de timidité et d’exaltation, dans son univers secret et nostalgique, des "Eparpillements" de Natalie Barney à Proust ou Colette, des chansons d’Yvette Guilbert à celles de Véronique Sanson, Barbara ou Brigitte Fontaine. Un tête-à-tête avec le public. « Je lui joue du piano, chante ; je lui lis mes passages préférés des livres et des auteurs que j’aime… » explique Mathieu Rosaz. Parallèlement, il reprend son spectacle « Barbara », tout simplement idéal et parfait, pour 2 petites représentations.
