Sa nomination est encore toute récente. Matthias Brauer a été choisi l’année dernière pour prendre les rênes du Chœur de Radio-France. Formé dans la plus pure tradition germanique, ce chef dirige depuis 1995 les Chœurs de l’Opéra de Dresde. On pourra mesurer le bien-fondé de cette prise de fonction lors du prochain concert de l’Eglise Saint- Eustache, d’autant que le programme est dédié à la musique slave, l’une des passions de Matthias Brauer (son enregistrement du Stabat Mater de Dvorak avait reçu en 2002 le Grand Prix du disque). Outre des pièces de Janacek et d’Arvo Pärt, le public parisien pourra entendre une œuvre maîtresse de Dvorak : la Messe pour chœur et orgue opus 86. Ecrite en 1887, cette partition en ré majeur s’avère aussi brillante que joyeuse. « Elle pourrait s’appeler Foi, Espérance et Amour du Dieu tout-puissant », a d’ailleurs écrit à son propos Dvorak.
