Depuis huit ans, le « Jus de Bocse » de Médéric Collignon fonctionne comme un laboratoire. « Une histoire au long cours, c’est essentiel pour avancer » confie Collignon. Un premier disque autour de « Porgy and Bess » par Miles Davis et Gil Evans témoignait ainsi de cette envie de réinventer – réinvestir – le jazz par sa face classique. C’est encore Miles, mais cette fois tendance psychédélique, qui est au cœur du propos de ce second album baptisé « Shangri – Tunkashi – La ». Place à l’énergie collective, aux longues improvisations testées et éprouvées sur scène. « Un process de fabrication plus proche de la musique contemporaine », selon le cornettiste qui pour l’occasion a composé avec le Fender Rhodes et quatre cors, mais sans guitare. Pour un résultat qui remet dans le jus actuel ce brouet en fusion.
