Mellizo Doble. « Jumeau Double ». Deux génies du flamenco, l’un à la voix et à la guitare, l’autre à la danse, ayant si bien intégré au plus profond de leur être les codes de leur discipline qu’ils peuvent tout se permettre, y compris de les envoyer valdinguer, en mille superbes éclats. Ils ne s’en privent pas ! Niño de Elche et Israel Galván ont présenté au Festival Flamenco de Nîmes leur magistral concert chorégraphique avant de le donner au début du mois de février au Théâtre de la Ville. S’ils ont fait grincer quelques dents, fait fuir, même, quelques spectateurs et spectatrices, on maintient avec force que leur triomphe final est plus que mérité et qu’il ne faut les rater sous aucun prétexte.
Un flamenco réinventé
Un plateau nu, quelques accessoires – chaises, cercle et cubes de bois – pantalon noir et chemise blanche pour Elche, tenue noire et tablier de cuir rouge pour Galván. « Una plaza de toro. Una noche de sangre ». Dans cette arène une nuit de sang, l’un psalmodie, déclame, slame, l’autre martèle le sol puis le caresse. Ils font corps dans un même élan, une même vibration, une même tension. Comment peut-il y avoir en eux autant de puissance et de délicatesse, tant de dextérité et d’élégance, tant de virtuosité et de décontraction ? Il y a là du jazz, du minimalisme, du popping, du Cage ou du Forsythe. Et pourtant non, c’est toujours bel et bien du flamenco. Réinventé. Et même une déclaration d’amour à cet art par deux génies facétieux qui amènent la lumière (superbe et signée Benito Jiménez) à nous jouer des tours, restant présente dans les gradins ou disparaissant totalement de la salle. À la sortie ça s’engueule, il y a ceux qui ne décolèrent pas et ceux qui ont tant apprécié qu’ils ne s’en remettent pas. Vous savez de quel côté nous ranger. Viva Sevilla, Olé !
