La compagnie fondée en 1999 par Paulo Azevedo et Tais Vieira s’est engagée corps et âme dans une aventure artistique et humaine en forme de réponse à leur environnement. Révélé à travers la première pièce d’un diptyque consacré à la violence, Raio X, le groupe a su tirer parti de cette thématique dans le propos comme dans les corps. Cette pièce, en référence à l’univers carcéral brésilien, passe au crible le système en évoquant les brutalités et les massacres qui se déroulent dans les prisons. Febre faisait suite, explorant la thématique jusque dans ses dimensions quotidiennes. La danse de Membros est une danse de têtes brûlées, faite de chocs, de ruptures, d’élans brutaux et de blessures. Sans ménagement, les interprètes jettent littéralement leurs corps dans le mouvement : le mur, au sens propre comme au figuré, est un élément important dans leur travail, comme le montre Meio Fio, pièce de rue où le mur stoppe net l’incandescence du mouvement.
