Algérie / Cité de la Musique
Dans le cadre d’un cycle « Mémoire et création », la Cité de la Musique célèbre un demi-siècle d’indépendance de l’Algérie en mettant en lumière les champs d’une musique populaire, engagée, hétérodoxe, et toujours en quête de liberté. Le samedi, un après-midi de débats autour de l’engagement artistique sera ponctué par un concert du chanteur Baâziz, entre chaâbi et rock alternatif. Puis Cheba Fadela, l’une des trop rares femmes respectées du raï, succèdera à un plateau de chaâbi avec Abdelkader Chaou. Le dimanche, un concert du poète de la résistance kabyle Lounis Aït Menguellet s’immisce dans un cycle de projections dépeignant les combats politiques et sociaux du peuple algérien, avec pour bouquet final un film de Willliam Klein sur le Panaf, le mythique festival panafricain d’Alger de 1969, qui regroupa dans un espoir de créativité culturelle pléthore d’artistes tels Myriam Makeba, Archie Shepp, Barry White entre autres artistes du monde entier se trouvant des racines communes dans le giron africain.
