Il s’agit bien d’une forme de retour aux sources que Gladys Demba et Léo Lérus réalisent, chacun à leur façon, à travers ces deux pièces qui se partagent une soirée spéciale au Carreau du Temple. Elle a grandi et fait ses premiers pas de danse en Guyane, tout comme lui en Guadeloupe. Les deux sont passés par Paris achever leur formation, mais sans doute pour mieux ensuite créer, au regard de leur identité chorégraphique plurielle. Forte de sa rencontre avec Thomas Lebrun au CCN de Tours, Gladys Demba livre avec Mes Horizons un solo à l’écriture complexe, autant fait d’images que de symboles.
Brassage des danses et des cultures
Elle brasse, par la danse, les sons et les objets qui l’accompagnent, toute la richesse des cultures de son territoire natal, en convoquant les descendants d’esclaves, les Créoles, les Amérindiens… Elle fait sienne la richesse de ce patrimoine, dans un patchwork scénique en ouverture et en friction. Léo Lérus jouit quant à lui d’un plus grand parcours d’interprète (Wayne McGregor, Ohad Naharin…). Sa pièce Entropie traduit sa maîtrise du mouvement et de la composition dans l’espace. Elle s’inspire de la physicalité du gwoka guadeloupéen et des danses caribéennes, et donne une autre issue, plus critique, au chaos évoqué dans son titre, Entropie.
