Théâtre de La Ville - Les Abbesses
Le premier confinement est déjà loin, et les questions qu’il soulevait ont souvent été balayées par une reprise sur les chapeaux de roue à laquelle le théâtre n’a pas échappé. Certains gestes artistiques, toutefois, gardent vive la trace de cette période. C’est le cas de Mes parents de Mohamed El Khatib, né d’un atelier qu’il réalise par Zoom en 2020 avec les élèves de la promotion 10 de l’École du TNB. En alternance – sur vingt, seuls dix sont au plateau –, les vingt jeunes artistes partagent le résultat de la recherche qu’ils ont menée sur leurs propres parents.

« Comment peuvent s’exprimer la colère en puissance ou bien l’amour indicible de cette nouvelle génération envers ses parents ? Qui met-on vraiment à nu quand on parle de ces personnes, au statut si singulier de parents ? ». Pour répondre à ces questions et à bien d’autres, les élèves du TNB se livrent à un théâtre intime tel que Mohamed El Khatib le pratique avec son collectif Zirlib, tantôt en se mettant lui-même en scène, tantôt en demandant à d’autres personnes ou à des groupes de se faire leurs propres ethnologues. En questionnant leurs origines, les interprètes de Mes parents sondent les limites de l’intime et touchent du doigt sa dimension politique.
