Quel regard singulier portez-vous sur la scène ?
Michaël Dusautoy : Un parcours de plasticien et de vidéaste m’a conduit à privilégier la forme scénique de l’installation en reliant l’art vidéo au théâtre. Or, j’ai toujours tenu à injecter de la vie à l’intérieur des images, en voulant que l’installation s’incarne contre la peur du vide ou d’un manque existentiel. Cette transmission et le partage d’un savoir-faire sont la quête même de notre collectif éclectique composé de circassiens, de plasticiens, de musiciens, d’écrivains, de vidéastes et de chanteurs.
Pourquoi ce choix de La Promenade, petit journal poétique de l’auteur suisse Robert Walser, ironisant sur la vie quotidienne ?
M. D. : Le texte pose la question de la représentation au théâtre, celle de la marche, du mouvement, des paysages, des lieux. L’enjeu n’est pas l’histoire de la promenade mais la carte géographique, un jeu de l’oie à travers lequel le promeneur se raconte à mesure qu’il découvre les petites choses de la vie. Il révèle ce qui l’émeut en ne redoutant pas de s’exposer. Assumant ce qui lui arrive, il laisse affleurer le mal-être ou le plaisir en entraînant le spectateur.
Ce personnage d’auteur vous touche particulièrement.
M. D. : Walser ne représente pas l’artiste romantique enfermé dans sa tour d’ivoire mais plutôt le bon gaillard suisse qui aime bien manger et boire.

Écrire signifie aller vers les autres, à la rencontre du monde, du mouvement et de la vie : un défi majeur de l’exploration théâtrale.
Comment représentez-vous la promenade et les paysages ?
M. D. : Damien Saingeon, comédien et trapéziste, s’élève dans les airs en traduisant l’effort physique imposé au corps, un mouvement rythmique comparable à celui de la marche. La table et la chaise de l’écrivain décollent du sol comme des tapis volants. Les détails quotidiens, les signes infimes et banals de cette aventure, révèlent une vision poétique du monde ; la transfiguration de l’insignifiant provient de la description même de la balade. Les paysages reposent sur l’iconographie populaire suisse et l’influence asiatique – bouts de papier, estampes chinoises jusqu’aux papiers découpés traditionnels suisses. L’esprit du marcheur appartient à la philosophie zen.
La métaphore de la feuille de l’écrivain est présente sur la scène.
M. D. : Une banque insolite d’images créatrices de l’univers personnel du promeneur se déploie derrière, au-dessus et au-devant d’une grande feuille de papier kraft qui arrive du fond de la scène comme une vague. Cet écran brut est propice au théâtre d’ombres, à la réception et à l’envol de l’imaginaire.
Comment racontez-vous ce cheminement du matin jusqu’au soir ?
M. D. : L’adaptation parle de la façon dont on a aimé l’œuvre. Si on s’éloigne de la nouvelle d’origine, c’est pour mieux la raconter sans la trahir. Les rencontres en chemin – le libraire, la banquière, le postier, la bergère, l’ouvrier… – réinstallent le poète à sa place, séparée d’une société qui ne le comprend pas. Walser est un artiste essentiel, fuyant d’abord le tape-à-l’oeil.
