OPÉRA COMIQUE / NOUVELLE PRODUCTION
S’il est un air qui fait toujours de l’effet, c’est « la ronde du postillon » au contre-ré insolent, que peu de ténors peuvent se targuer d’atteindre. Mais curieusement, l’opéra d’Adam dont il est issu n’a plus jamais paru sur la scène de l’Opéra-Comique depuis 1898. Justice lui est rendue dans cette nouvelle production dirigée par Sébastien Rouland et dominée par les chanteurs Michael Spyres et Franck Leguérinel. Si le chef note l’invraisemblance du livret, « sans le savoir, un homme épouse deux fois la même femme à dix ans d’intervalle », il relève son orchestration délicate, une harmonie élaborée et un génie mélodique prodigieux. La mise en scène de cette éblouissante comédie est signée Michel Fau, qui après le succès de Ciboulette, retrouve les ors de la Salle Favart. S’entourant d’Emmanuel Charles pour les décors et de Christian Lacroix pour les costumes, il livre des couleurs saturées et n’hésite pas à flirter avec le mauvais goût pour incarner « le XVIIIe vu par le XIXe : un imaginaire bourgeois à l’heure du romantisme, entre la porcelaine et la pâtisserie, entre le sucré et l’acidulé. »
