Michel Lethiec, directeur artistique du festival, a conçu trois soirées chambristes en hommage à Haydn autour de trois thèmes à haut pouvoir évocateur : « Rencontres », « Rêves » et « Traditions ». « Les concerts de cette année seront consacrés à des œuvres de Josef Haydn à l’occasion du bicentenaire de sa mort et à ce que Haydn a pu inspirer à d’autres, comme Mozart bien évidemment, mais aussi Brahms et même quelqu’un comme Osvaldo Goljov, un compositeur juif argentin qui vit à New York et qui a écrit une pièce extraordinaire pour clarinette klezmer et quatuor à cordes » explique-t-il. Avec le Quatuor Artis, les pianistes Peter Frankl et Kun Woo Paik, les violonistes Olivier Charlier et Mihaela Martin, l’altiste Bruno Pasquier, les violoncellistes Frans Helmerson et Arto Noras, Frans Helmerson, l’Ensemble Calliopée ou les « soufflants » Patrick Gallois (flûte), Jean-Louis Capezzali (hautbois), Michel Lethiec (clarinette), Giorgio Mandolesi (basson), André Cazalet (cor) etc… A noter enfin, les avant-concerts les 23 et 24 à 18h30 en présence des compositeurs Karol Beffa et Silvia Colosanti, finalistes du concours international de composition du Festival de Prades 2007.
