LA SEINE MUSICALE / CLARINETTE
A l’auditorium de La Seine Musicale, on aime décidément les duos de choc ! Après les rencontres des jazzmen Hiromi et Edmar Castaneda ou de Ron Carter et Richard Galliano, et avant, à la rentrée, Ballaké Sissoko et Vincent Ségal, ou, plus étonnant encore, la rencontre de David Helfgott et Rhodri Clarke dans « Rach 3 », la version pour deux pianos du célèbre et épique Concerto n° 3 de Rachmaninov, place à deux poètes et aventuriers de la clarinette. Paul Meyer et son aîné Michel Portal ont tissé depuis plusieurs années des liens de connivence musicale qui s’appuient sur leur exceptionnelle mobilité artistique. Michel Portal excelle dans Mozart mais s’est aussi imposé comme improvisateur et compositeur (pour le cinéma en particulier) de premier plan. Paul Meyer quant à lui compte parmi les plus brillants représentants de la glorieuse école française de la clarinette, mais a aussi su développer depuis une vingtaine d’années une remarquable activité de chef d’orchestre.
