Mickey-la-Torche est le court récit d’un homme qui cherche un sens à sa vie. Mickey sait depuis la mort de Mémé et de son père qu’il sera vigile, un métier qui ne l’occupe qu’une nuit par semaine. Cette solitude obligée commence à lui peser, d’autant plus sensible qu’il croise sa voisine Lisbeth dont il est tombé amoureux. Impossible de lui parler, le héros n’en a pas le cran. C’est alors qu’une idée bizarre va naître de ses frustrations, une idée simple d’abord à laquelle Mickey va s’accrocher de toutes ses forces. Toutes les compétences du personnage seront mises au service de cette manœuvre tordue. Cet homme n’hésite pas à pénétrer dans l’intimité de la voisine convoitée. Est-il allé trop loin ? La langue que crée Natacha de Pontcharra est attachante dans l’oscillation entre l’humour noir et la cruauté, la poésie et la folie. Cet art-là touche à l’universel dans le sillage d’un déclin et d’une douloureuse absence d’amour. Et Christophe Gravouil en fait un solo.
