Pierre Rigal mène son chemin comme un incorrigible touche-à-tout. Identifié comme chorégraphe, auteur de plusieurs pièces (Arrêts de jeux, Erection, Press…) dont une franchement hip hop (Asphalte), il est également réalisateur, photographe, ou collaborateur d’Aurélien Bory sur des propositions plus circassiennes ! Autant dire que chacune de ses tentatives est toujours une surprise, et qu’il ne se dirige jamais là où on l’attend. Ici, Pierre Rigal s’offre un essai autour de la forme du concert rock, avec une équipe constituée de compositeurs, musiciens, chanteurs, danseurs… S’inspirant de l’univers du concert, avec ses codes, ses habitudes, ses contraintes, ses faux-semblants, il décadre la forme pour donner en spectacle une installation plastique et chorégraphique combinant tous ses éléments. Sur scène, des micros, des instruments – claviers, batterie, guitares – des cables, des amplis, des enceintes… une scénographie comme une géographie du concert en mouvement, qui passe de performeur en performeur, constamment dans l’échange et dans l’expérience d’une autre possibilité gestuelle et sonore.
Une incursion dans l’underground londonien
Il y a dans l’exploration que proposent les interprètes de Micro une échappée libre vers la genèse de ce qui deviendra un concert rock. Des instruments qui s’ouvrent doucement à la vie, des créatures qui en prennent possession, un apprentissage empirique et organique… Pierre Rigal s’amuse dans ce voyage archéologique jusqu’à la construction de bêtes de scène, figures étranges entre fantasmes et mythes, monstres sacrés ou rock star. Le tout dans un emballage musical qui flirte avec le punk comme avec le lyrique, ou le death metal. Micro a suivi un long processus de maturation et s’élabore par étapes face au public. La première, à Londres, a permis de s’immerger dans l’histoire et dans les lieux même du rock. La seconde aura lieu à Avignon, avant l’ultime version en janvier 2011. Une construction minutieuse, pour mieux atteindre la déstructuration des formes.
