L’alliance entre musique et texte, entre un instrumentiste et un comédien, est toujours risquée. Dans cet exercice, aucune des deux formes ne doit dominer l’autre. On se souvient ainsi d’éclatantes réussites (avec Denis Podalydès et Pierre-Laurent Aimard autour d’Etre sans destin de Kertesz) et d’échecs patents (notamment avec la sempiternelle Marie-Christine Barrault, abonnée à ce type de prestations). A la Maison de la musique de Nanterre, l’affiche est plus que prometteuse, réunissant le pianiste Mikhaïl Rudy, à la sensibilité exacerbée, et le comédien Denis Lavant, que l’on a récemment pu voir dans l’excellent Holy Motors de Leos Carax. Ils ont choisi de s’atteler au roman d’Andreï Makine, La musique d’une vie, décrivant la fuite d’un jeune pianiste russe en pleine Seconde guerre mondiale. Un texte concis, bouleversant, qui fait écho au propre itinéraire de Mikhaïl Rudy, quittant l’URSS dans les années 70 pour demander l’asile politique en France. La Maison de la musique de Nanterre s’apprête à accueillir à nouveau le pianiste à deux reprises dans la saison : en janvier avec un programme classique-jazz et en mars pour une soirée cinéma.
