Qui d’autre mieux qu’André Minvielle pouvait rendre hommage à l’esprit loufoque et iconoclaste de Boby Lapointe ? Poète, scatteur, équilibriste des mots, ce vocaliste à nul autre pareil a fait de l’onomatopée swingante son beau souci depuis des décennies. Lauréat d’une Victoire du Jazz en 2008, complice de Bernard Lubat, cascadeur des musiques improvisées, Minvielle ne rate jamais une occasion de marier langue française et note bleue. Quand il s’est agi de célébrer l’esprit de l’auteur d’Aragon et Castille, Jean-Marie Machado a donc eu la bonne idée de faire appel aux services du natif de Lée dans les Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Mais plus qu’une subtile réinvention des chansons phares de Boby telle Ta Katie t’a quitté, le pianiste a également composé des pièces inédites : portées par des textes originaux d’André Minvielle, elles sont interprétées par son flamboyant orchestre « Danzas » où l’on retrouve le flûtiste de l’ONJ Joce Mienniel ou le saxophoniste héritier de Dave Liebman, Jean-Charles Richard. A l’occasion de la sortie de leur disque « La Fête à Boby » sur le label Bee Jazz, ils investissent le Café de la Danse pour ce qui s’annonce comme un généreux banquet de rimes riches et de rythmes ivres. A consommer sans modération.
