Formé au Conservatoire de Saint-Pétersbourg dans la classe d’Alexandre Sandler avant d’être lauréat en 1998 du festival Neuhaus des jeunes musiciens à Moscou, Miroslav Kultyshev est une pure merveille née du système russe. Pour preuve, le jeune prodige épingle en 2007 sur son CV, à seulement 22 ans, le plus beau des trophées : le 1er Prix du Concours International de Piano Tchaïkovski à Moscou. Cinq ans plus tard, il remporte aussi le XXème Monte-Carlo Piano Masters, et fait ses débuts en France au Festival d’Auvers sur Oise… Depuis, en dépit d’un beau parcours international, on avait un peu perdu sa trace en France. On le retrouve aujourd’hui dans l’intimité d’une salle qui correspond bien à son jeu intérieur, où la puissance se ressent d’abord comme une acuité d’expression, et la subtilité comme une poésie qui donne des frissons, dans des œuvres de deux compositeurs qu’il sert prioritairement en concert : les 12 Etudes op. 10 de Chopin et les 13 Préludes op. 32 de Rachmaninov.
