Théâtre du Train Bleu / écriture et mise en scène Jennifer Lesage-David
Impliquée depuis ses origines dans le fonctionnement de l’International Visual Theatre (IVT), dont elle est depuis 2014 la codirectrice avec Emmanuelle Laborit, Jennifer Lesage-David met le théâtre au service de la Culture Sourde. Dans Miss or Mister President ?, elle intègre le bilinguisme dans son processus de création. Interprétée en Langue des Signes (LSF) par trois comédiens – Olivier Calcada, Fanny Maugard et Annie Potier –, sa campagne présidentielle située « dans un futur proche, dans un pays pas si lointain » est traduite en directe en français. « J’ai fait le choix d’inverser les rôles », explique-t-elle. Le personnage du traducteur, souvent mésestimé, tient ainsi une place centrale dans la pièce qui se veut ludique, satirique. Portée par des hommes politiques caricaturaux, déconnectés du réel, la campagne de Jennifer Lesage-David montre que la vraie surdité n’est pas forcément où l’on pense.
