Tels des électrons libres, les 19 acrobates dessinent dans leurs courses un engrenage invisible que nul heurt ne viendra altérer. En quelques minutes, c’est tout l’art d’XY qui explose et sidère par sa virtuosité, son art du porté acrobatique et du vol plané, et son élan collectif. Le chorégraphe Rachid Ouramdane a trouvé en leur matière un terrain idéal pour poursuivre sa recherche sur les grands ensembles et les déplacements. L’image des nuées d’étourneaux fonctionne à bloc dans cette création. En héritier d’Odile Duboc dont il fut l’interprète, il creuse la notion d’inter-espace si chère à la première chorégraphe des Vols d’oiseaux (1981). Les acrobates d’XY sont des oiseaux de bel augure : ils déplacent la prouesse vers d’autres imaginaires, sans cesse dans la reconstruction et dans la prise en charge de l’autre pour l’amener ailleurs. Il y a toujours une main tendue, un élan transformé pour se relever. Dans cette frénésie et ces surgissements s’échouent des corps à l’horizontal, qui laissent place à des empilements verticaux. Des vagues se forment, la fluidité du temps et du geste nous submerge.
