Dans le cadre d’un cycle de trois spectacles au Nouveau Théâtre de Montreuil interrogeant la place de la femme dans la société, Pauline Bureau crée Modèles, avec cinq artistes de sa génération, trentenaires au XXIème siècle, explorant la construction de l’identité sexuelle dans sa dimension sociale et intime. « On ne naît pas femme, on le devient », a dit Simone de Beauvoir (Le Deuxième Sexe), et la metteure en scène questionne : « De quelle manière ? » Vaste interrogation, complexe et fascinante, prenant en compte les représentations d’hier et nos vies d’aujourd’hui, ainsi que la transmission consciente et inconsciente des rôles féminins et masculins. Le spectacle rassemble un collage de textes – Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras, Pierre Bourdieu, Virginie Despentes, Judith Butler – de témoignages, d’interviews, de chansons – Edith Piaf et Courtney Love – et d’images – Cranach, Nan Goldin. Sur le plateau s’entremêlent ainsi le jeu des comédiennes, divers matériaux et perspectives, afin de définir véritablement le spectacle comme la représentation de la réflexion des artistes. Une démarche ambitieuse et passionnante.
