Luke (Denis Lavalou) revient dans sa maison d’enfance. Il y retrouve Ned (Cédric Dorier), son frère cadet, qu’il n’avait pas vu depuis le décès de leur mère, dix ans auparavant. Parti sans explication, il réapparaît sans plus d’éclaircissement, se confrontant à un lien fraternel obscur, énigmatique, instable. C’est la figure tutélaire de leur mère disparue qui scellera la puissance de ces étranges retrouvailles. Autour du transfert nocturne de sa dépouille, os par os, depuis le cimetière jusqu’à la cuisine familiale, les deux frères refont ainsi connaissance, apprennent à réinventer leur fraternité. « Oui…, on peut réussir à se rencontrer d’où que l’on vienne, autour de gestes partagés, de rituels communs, déclare le metteur en scène Kristian Frédric. Que l’on soit Abel et Caïn, Palestinien et Israélien, Serbe et Kosovar, la réconciliation est possible, ajoute-t-il, voyant dans la pièce de Daniel Keene une parabole de conflits, de déchirements mythologiques mais aussi contemporains. »
