C’est une autre facette du chorégraphe Georges Momboye que l’on découvrait à travers ces deux essais autour des œuvres de Stravinski et Debussy. Habitué aux grandes pièces et aux rythmes afro-contemporains, Momboye s’était lui-même mis en scène en solo dans un faune contraint par un espace resserré. Une gageure, qu’il a ensuite transmis à une danseuse de sa compagnie, Nouza Lanusse-Cortot. Cette pièce n’est pas le reflet de l’œuvre de Nijinski, car très éloignée du livret original. Cependant, son Sacre du printemps reprend à son compte les évolutions d’un groupe face au choix de l’élue, et utilise les rythmes percussifs de la musique pour faire exploser sa danse africaine. La programmation dans chaque lieu permet de se confronter aux deux interprétations du faune, et d’en débattre avec le chorégraphe.
